Description of 10 lenses in 10 words
For the following lens types, write a description of each using no more than 10 works for each lens.
Wide Angle – wide field of view, distort perspective, large depth of field.
Long Focus – distant object close up, no distorted perspective,
Retro-Focus – Angenieux retrofocus, wide-angle lens with inverted telephoto configuration, short telephoto lens.
True Fish-eye – wide-angle, “whole-sky lenses”, 8-10mm circular image, barrel distortion.
Macro – close up, small objects, focus to infinity too, 1:1 to 5:1.
Supplementary - added to main lens, close up lens, alters focal length
Zoom – varied focal length/angle of view, parafocal lens maintains focus as focal length changes
Telephoto – long-focus, physical length lens shorter than focal length.
Quasi Fish-Eye – image covers entire frame not circular within frame
Catadioptric – curved mirrors, telephoto lens, convex secondary mirror multiplies focal length, short
compact. chromatic aberration major problem .
Teleconverter – secondary lens, enlarge central part of image, reduces aperture, magnifies aberrations.
PC or Tilt Shift – control perspective, short focus 17mm – 35mm used for architecture, large image circle.

Tasks 1) Log on to your workstation using the student login.
a) Name : student Password : student
2) Open the file ‘Img 1 - Ex-02_Image.jpg’ in Photoshop.
3) Select ‘Image -> Image Size …’ and answer the following questions about the image :-
1. Width of the image in pixels - 2000pixels
2. Height of the image in pixels - 1500pixels
3. Calculate the size of the image in Megapixels - 3Mp
4. What is the specified resolution of the image - 300ppi
5. Width of the image in cm 16.93cm
6. Height of the image in cm 12.7cm
Turn OFF the ‘Resample Image’ option and change the Resolution to 150 pixels/inch.
7. Width of the image in pixels - 2000pixels
8. Height of the image in pixels- 1500pixels
9. What is the new Width in cm - 33.87cm
10. What is the new Height in cm - 25.4cm
11. What is the image size in Megapixels - 3Mp
Change the resolution back to 300 pixels/inch
Turn ON the ‘Resample Image’ option and change the Resolution to 150 pixels/inch.
12. Width of the image in pixels 1000pixels
13. Height of the image in pixels 750pixels
14. What is the new Width in cm 16.93cm
15. What is the new Height in cm 12.7cm
16. What is the image size in Megapixels .75Mp
