Description of 10 lenses in 10 words
For the following lens types, write a description of each using no more than 10 works for each lens.
Wide Angle – wide field of view, distort perspective, large depth of field.
Long Focus – distant object close up, no distorted perspective,
Retro-Focus – Angenieux retrofocus, wide-angle lens with inverted telephoto configuration, short telephoto lens.
True Fish-eye – wide-angle, “whole-sky lenses”, 8-10mm circular image, barrel distortion.
Macro – close up, small objects, focus to infinity too, 1:1 to 5:1.
Supplementary - added to main lens, close up lens, alters focal length
Zoom – varied focal length/angle of view, parafocal lens maintains focus as focal length changes
Telephoto – long-focus, physical length lens shorter than focal length.
Quasi Fish-Eye – image covers entire frame not circular within frame
Catadioptric – curved mirrors, telephoto lens, convex secondary mirror multiplies focal length, short
compact. chromatic aberration major problem .
Teleconverter – secondary lens, enlarge central part of image, reduces aperture, magnifies aberrations.
PC or Tilt Shift – control perspective, short focus 17mm – 35mm used for architecture, large image circle.
